Kingsun sponge titanium is mainly produced by magnesium reduction-distillation process. During the production process, its refining and purification is by vacuum distillation. The obtained product is loose and pore-like and looks like a sponge, hence the name. Titanium sponge is a primary product in the production of titanium metal. It needs to be further melted and cast to obtain titanium ingots, that is, industrial pure titanium, before it can be processed into corresponding titanium materials or titanium alloys.
